USB Waveform Player and Reflex Timer.

We require a hardware design for an addressable USB and daisy chainable device that can be manufactured in high volumes for minimal cost. The purpose of the device is to help people to develop controlled timing skills in the playing of music, or the motor functions involved in sports. The ability to measure time duration in software on a PC is not sufficiently accurate and reliable enough for this purpose. This is why the development of an external device is required. In simple terms this device:

1. Receives and stores a short (max 2 second) stereo waveform via USB.
2. Plays this waveform at specified intervals through an onboard stereo headphone minijack, and records the time when the waveform started playing
3. Powers external sensors that indicate contact closure, or measures when a threshhold is reached in the change of an analog voltage of an external sensor.
4. Records the time when a response was detected.

Our intended device introduces meaningful sound, and multiple devices to take 'timing' training to the next level. We are at the development stage, and need a few daisy chainable working prototypes with which to develop our software. So we are looking for a partner who can design and build the prototypes for us, so that we can develop the necessary PC based software. And then when the software is developed, have this same partner provide the production devices, packaged with the software we develop, so that we can market the combination worldwide.
